The United Nations Mission in Colombia was established on 26 January 2016 to provide support to the peace process. Its mandate ended on 26 September 2017, and its responsibilities were transferred to the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia.

Visit to the UN Security Council

UN SECURITY COUNCIL VISIT TO COLOMBIA, MAY 3-5, 2017

In order to support the peace process in Colombia and the presence of the UN Peacekeeping Mission, the full Security Council, along with the ambassadors of its 15 member countries, will be in the country from May 3 to 5, 2017, for its first visit ever.
